Sprint  Goal

The main goal of this sprint was to reach our minimum viable product (MVP) goals: we wanted to create a music player that was about the size of a shoebox, with lights that reacted in some way to the beat as well as a record that would begin playing while a song played. 

Sprint  Deliverable:  The  Jucube

The first sprint deliverable is shoe-box-sized jukebox. Important components are: two buttons to switch between and play songs, a spinning record display, LED's that flash to the beat, and the capability to play songs over a computer speaker. The system is completely integrated and all systems work together.

Next  Sprint  Goal

The next sprint goal is to bring out system forward, making it more standalone, interactive, and reactive. Individual system improvements are to implement real-time beat detection using a transistor, redesign the housing, integrate a speaker and a Rasberry Pi computer to make the JuCube a standalone system, integrate an engaging record changer display,  and start designing an interactive activation element.

Biggest  Technical  Risks

Our biggest technical risks for next sprint is adding an interactive activation element and reactive real-time beat detection. These are both very technically difficult tasks. To mitigate failure points, we will scope the amount of work we have to do to the amount of time we have. All told, our goal for this project is to learn, not to have the most technically difficult or successful project. We will have continued team check in so no one struggles alone and continue brainstorming what we would like the interaction to look like so that we can design an elegant system that maximizing for engagement and minimizing for technical difficultly.
