The Team

A collaboration between Olin and Wellesley

Ian Hill

[Olin College : Engineering with Computing]

A sophomore at Olin College, Ian is a member of the student government and the President of the college's student theater group, the Franklin W. Olin Players. He spent the last summer interning at IBM and enjoys coding and UX design. On the Stairpeggio team, he contributed to the mechanical design of the multi-box sensor system, debugging the Arduino code, building this website, and team leadership. As the only member of the team to own an automobile, he also acted as the team chauffeur and material purchaser.

Sunnia Ye

[Wellesley College: Computer Science]

Sunnia is is a sophomore at Wellesley College, where she is a part of the CS Club Hackathon Planning Committee and does research with Professor Eni Mustafaraj on MOOCs. She spent the past summer at an REU at Carnegie Mellon and learning to cook. On the Stairpeggio team, she contributed to designing and testing the Arduino code, as well as creating the animations and content on this website. As the member with the best smartphone camera, she also acted as filmographer. Her personal website can be found here.

Sam Chin

[Wellesley College: Economics & Olin: Electrical Engineering and Computing Certificate]

Sam is a sophomore interested in autonomous robots and the relationship between technology growth and economic inequality. She is a Resident Assistant in Munger Hall and a peer health educator. When not doing economics or engineering, Sam leads the spoken word group, Wellesley Out Loud, sails for the Sailing Team and listens to lots of podcasts. On the Stairpeggio team, Sam researched and designed the solenoid, assisted with circuit creation, and soldered the perfboards. Administratively, Sam also helped prioritize and delegate tasks.

Meghan Tighe

[Olin: BioEngineering]

A sophomore at Olin College, Meghan is interested in research in type 1 diabetes and the technology used to treat it. When she isn’t engineering things, she enjoys crafting. On the Stairpeggio team, Meghan assisted in CADing the box design, made the eight solenoids, and contributed to soldering the different components of each box to the perf boards. As the only member with an extra bed at Olin, she also occasionally hosted sleepy team members before and after meetings. Her personal website can be found here.

Abi Rodrigues

[Olin: Robotics Engineering]

Abigail is a sophomore at Olin College of Engineering. Within the field of engineering, her interests relate to the integration of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, allowing her to completely embrace what the PoE offers. Apart from engineering, she is very passionate about classical music and instruments, specifically the piano, violin and guitar. On the Stairpeggio team, she mainly worked on developing the circuit and integrating it with the solenoids and sensors used.
