Learn moreWe initially started out to create a machine that created bent, breadboardable wires. We later pivoted to a wire bending machine. The mechanical system of our project has two main subsystems: wire feeder and wire bender.
Learn moreIn order to bend or feed anything, we needed to control stepper motors via an Arduino and Python interface. We started from an analog button press, proceeded to the Arduino Serial Console, and then culminated with a Python program on a laptop.
Learn moreOver the span of the project, we progressed from discrete parts to an integrated product. We moved to make sure that first, a wire feeding system worked, then proceeded to a fully integrated feeding and bending machine. After this, we proceeded to make sure that every component ran smoothly with each other.
