You can't deny: lasers are pretty cool. So, we decided to make an instrument out of them! We made a laser based music box that plays digital tones. A key is pressed to reveal a laser that shines on a system of mirrors and eventually hits a photodiode. The change in voltage across the photodiode is read and audio waves are processed.
