We are inspired by biology, kinetic art, and human interaction with robots. We liked the motion of the real-life ‘shame plant’, which gets its name because it folds up its leaves and shrinks away when touched. One of our main goals was to evoke emotion with our robot in a non-obvious way, and to have our project interact with the environment around it.
