We began this project way back in October, and time has certainly flown by. Just for kicks, here's a blow-by-blow of the making of Lazer Maze.
Sprint 1
Tasks included:
- Deciding on a project
- Outlining personal learning goals
- Learning about laser safety
- Establishing the importance of modularity in a large system
- Learning to delegate tasks to sub-teams
- Launching our website
Here are some of our initial sketches from Sprint 1.
Sprint 2
Tasks included:
- Building two tabletop prototypes
- Drafting the bill of materials
- Designing the box structure
- Implementing a small-scale version of the electrical system
- Designing the user interface
Sprint 3
Tasks included:
- Purchasing materials
- Building the box
- Developing the software and user interface
- Wiring the electrical system
- Testing sensing
- Designing and fabricating laser mounts
... and here is where we are now.
In this past sprint, our tasks included:
- Finishing the software and user interface
- Integrating the electrical and software systems
- Designing and fabricating mirror mounts
- Calibrating the laser beam bounce system
- Finalizing the electrical wiring
- Documenting and reflecting
Not bad, huh? Spice Girls OUT.
